Random Number Generator
Generate random whole numbers or decimals in a range, with or without repeats, using the browser’s cryptographically secure generator.

Press “Generate” to create results.
What this calculator does
Pick lottery numbers, draw winners, roll dice or sample data. Numbers are generated locally in your browser.
Formula and method
Integers use crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias; decimals use 53 random bits for a uniform value in the range.
Worked example
Calculated by this tool with its default inputs:
Inputs
- Minimum: 1
- Maximum: 100
- How many numbers: 5
- Type: Whole numbers
- No repeats: Yes
- Sort the results: No
Results
- Your numbers: 86, 32, 35, 84, 17
- Generated: 5
How to read the results
Each run is independent; earlier results do not influence later ones.
Assumptions and limitations
- Not suitable for regulated gambling or cryptographic key generation without further controls.
Questions
Is this truly random?
It uses the operating system’s cryptographically secure pseudo-random generator, which is unpredictable for practical purposes.
Methodology and verification
- Result type
- Exact mathematical calculation (rounded only for display)
- Formula version
- 1.0
- Automated verification
- 4 reference and validation test cases, checked against independently computed values. The site cannot be built if any of them fail.
- Editorial review
- Awaiting human editorial review. The explanation was drafted with AI assistance; the formula and examples are verified by the automated tests above.
